A Different Kind of Software Group
Driven by Our ABCs and Backed by Billions
Founded in 1995 by Mark Leonard, Constellation Software started as a small investment firm focused on acquiring and growing vertical market software businesses. Over the decades, it has expanded into a global powerhouse with a proven strategy of acquiring and holding businesses for the long term. This heritage gives us the stability and patience to think in decades, not quarters.
We operate on three core principles—the PYXiS ABCs—that set us apart from traditional acquirers:
- Autonomy: Companies that join PYXiS maintain operational independence and their unique culture.
- Buy and Hold Forever: We've never sold a company, and we never will.
- Culture of Sharing Best Practices: Our portfolio companies benefit from collective experience while charting their own course.

A Guiding Light for Software Companies
Today, our constellation includes 28 companies across 10 verticals spanning 14 countries. Each maintains its unique place in the market while drawing strength from being part of something larger.

Arthur Morris
Group CEO
A graduate of Sports & Exercise Science, Arthur joined the software industry as a training & support agent for a small family-owned business that was dominating the UK Leisure market in the 90’s. He progressed by fulfilling many of the disciplines you find in software companies as well as founding two of his own; selling one and losing the other. He has also survived and flourished through three acquisitions and gathered the accolades and scars of learning and leading in small and large software organizations.
